Best thing to do… I know I know… Ugh! If you are like me you you like the taste of highly refined sugars. Removing candies, cakes, cookies, muffins, donuts, high sugar drinks, etc is not easy. The ‘feel good’ benefits waiting for you are nothing short of miraculous!
Sugar Detox: The first few days are the most challenging. Your sugar eating habit has probably been in place for awhile. You literally have a physical groove in your brain that matches up with your cravings. It’s time to reprogram your entire system physically, mentally and emotionally. It is not unusual to experience several body detox symptoms and discomforts: ongoing cravings, blood sugar ups/downs, headaches, body aches, nausea, constipation, tiredness and more. BEST CHOICE: Eat an egg, 2 Tablespoons cottage cheese or about 1 ounce of some other protein (fish, chicken, beef, pork, etc.). Protein will balance your blood sugar slowly and consistently. Overtime your blood sugar will become balanced and predictable.
Will removing highly refined sugars be worth it? It’s totally worth it if you want to turn loose of your fear of diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and much more. Hang in there. Put one foot in front of the other each day. Get ready to indulge in living in your stronger, more active and more vital body!
