If you are like me you you like the taste of highly refined sugars. Removing candies, cakes, cookies, muffins, donuts, high sugar drinks, etc is not easy. Sugar Detox: The first few days are the most challenging. Your sugar eating habit has probably been in place for awhile. Overtime your blood sugar will become balanced and predictable.

Will removing highly refined sugars be worth it? It’s totally worth it if you want to turn loose of your fear of diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and much more. Hang in there. MOVE WELL: Create Your Workout Wherever You Are

MOVE WELL every day for at least 30 minutes. Do you ever think about feeling better and more specifically feeling more fit? What are you actively doing to MANIFEST HEALTH? Just know that you don’t have to start working out for hours multiple times each week to get results. Finding a consistent way to move your body is far more important than how much your exercise.

Moving Well everyday for at least 30 minutes is a great natural remedy for increasing your fitness level and increasing your wellness in a very short time. How many different ways can you possibly move?

Keep your creative juices flowing when it comes to moving your body. Make it interesting, match it to your current fitness level and most importantly HAVE FUN! Always know that you can move anywhere, anytime and in anyway you possibly can.

So how can you create your workout wherever you are? These words can certainly lead us in many directions. Today I am focusing on HIKING IN THE PHOENIX AREA.

When I lived in Seattle I would have to drive at least 30 minutes to get to the hiking that interested me. Here in the Greater Phoenix Area there’s a convenient area called Thunderbird Conservation Park (59th Avenue exit off of Highway 101 in Glendale, AZ).

Compared to other hikes I’ve been on it’s fairly easy, but there are many ways you can increase the challenge by being creative. The best part about Thunderbird Conservation Park is how many different types of workouts can be created at this one location.

At the Thunderbird Conservation Park (Glendale, AZ area) you have many choices. It is dog friendly (on a leash) and a great place for the entire family. You can hike to the top and back down again in about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Here are SOME possible workouts you can create there:

  • South end has an easy flat place to walk/hike
  • Walk to the top & back down at your pace
  • Run to the top & back down at your pace
  • Create a run/walk that matches your current fitness level
  • Ride your mountain bike up to the top & back
  • Improve your balance/coordination on the uneven rocks
  • Place to sprint at the bottom of the mountain
  • Steps that you can run up & down
  • The steps are great for groups doing exercises together
  • Concrete picnic tables which are great for stretching legs
  • Tables are perfect height for inclined push ups


Workout Tips for your best hike

Hydrate before, during & after your workout

  • Carry water in a day pack
  • Wear sturdy hiking shoes
  • Wear a hat to protect your hair/scalp
  • Cover your skin up or use sun block in Arizona

No matter what your workout choice is the most important piece is BEING CONSISTENT. Normal DNA is created with a minimum of 30 minutes of body movement each day. It’s amazing how fast you will MANIFEST HEALTH. Your FEEL GOOD FEELINGS from your efforts will show up in a very short time with consistency.

1 – Define your ‘Why’ for your New Wellness Lifestyle. Ask yourself these questions? If you had more energy, what would you be doing? What did you like to do in the past that you can’t right now because of being unhealthy? If you lost weight and/or felt lighter what could you do? Who is important in your life that wants you to be healthier? How would your relationship with the important people in your life change with better health?

2 – Add foods instead of taking them away. Don’t worry about removing all of your favorite foods right away. Start by adding healthy foods when you are hungry. When you make your first dietary changes it can be challenging to KNOW if you are truly hungry for awhile. Eating can become an automatic habitual response rather than acting on true hunger. When you feel hunger drink at least 8 ounces of water first. Wait about 20 minutes. Still hungry? Eat real food first. Your best choice would be some high quality protein or fresh fruits/vegetables. As you add more and more healthy foods your need for junk foods or unhealthy food choices will lesson.

3 – Eat fruits/vegetables rather than drink them. Juicing is a very popular today and it can certainly be effective in some cases. If given the choice between juice or whole I always choose my whole fruits and vegetables. I LOVE the whole experience with the crunching and the textures. You will be left much fuller and satisfied with the whole food. The other draw back of juicing is the amount of fruits/vegetables it takes to juice which increases you sodium and frutose (sugar) levels significantly. Practicing eating everything in moderation. You can still juice, but I recommend that you do not depend on it.

4 – Start moving from where you are. So what exactly does this mean? If you are someone who hasn’t been exercising for a long time you must start from where you are. Getting started is often the biggest hurdle of any new food or exercise program. If you are poorly conditioned at this point in time I recommend a 5 minute walk outside the house. Start with one 5 minute walk in a day. Over the next 4 weeks add 4 to 6 other 5 minute walks which will add up to your 20-30 minutes of exercise for the day.

5 – Replace 3 to 5 meals with a salad. Start to lighten your evening meals with a salad. Add 2-3 ounces of quality protein to support balancing your blood sugar levels. A GOOD CHOICE is to replace your evening meal with the salad, but your BEST CHOICE is to use all organic ingredients. Within a few weeks you will be amazing at how much more energy you have by making this one little change.

6 – Eat carbohydrates before 2 pm. There are so many opinions about carbohydrates. With all wellness lifestyle choices it’s most important you choose what works for you. If you eat carbohydrates too late in the day they will be difficult to digest and metabolize. If you choose to eat carbohydrates then eat them by 2 pm. You will notice another big shift in your energy and how well your body feels by supporting your carbohydrate metabolism in this way.

7 – Control sugar cravings with Gymnema. Do you sometimes find your “get up and go” is gone? When your blood sugar is out of balance it’s difficult to maintain your energy. Gymnema has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine. It’s used to keep blood sugar levels within a normal range. BREATHE WELL: Reduce allergy symptoms

food sensitivities, seasonal allergies, nutrition, body detox, Loveland CO female chiropractor, sinus congestion, sinus headaches One medical understanding of the diagnosis ‘allergies’ is the reaction of the body to seasonal pollens which can result in sinusitis, watery eyes, sneezing, difficulty breathing and other allergy symptoms.

In recent years, there has been a sudden increase of suffers of allergy symptoms due to pollens. The ‘warming’ climate has extended the growing season for pollen-bearing plants to thrive. If you have a tendency to experience seasonal allergies they are most likely getting worse.

Your standard seasonal allergy care has been antihistamine pills, nasal sprays and decongestants giving minimal results at best.

 

Other types of allergy symptoms are also increasing: food allergies, animal allergies, chemical allergies and environmental allergies.

Food allergies are on the rise. Food sensitivities can cause mild to severe allergic reactions: bloating, constipation, indigestion, itching, skin rashes and headaches. Unexpected food allergy reactions can include fatigue symptoms, body pain and personality changes.

Severe allergic reactions can cause life threatening anaphylactic shock. Anaphylaxis happens quickly after the exposure and involves the whole body. One symptom can be excessive swelling in the throat that shuts down the ability to breath. Those with anaphylactic shock have to travel with an EpiPen® (epinephrine) in case of an emergency.

Medications give temporary relief at best. Most allergy symptom sufferers are told they have to live with their condition with only temporary relief with medications. After several allergy tests you might be getting regular shots to keep your allergy symptoms under control at best. You also may be asked to eliminate certain foods for your food allergies and/or remove all pets responsible for ‘allergic’ reactions.

One person can suffer horribly with horribly with allergy symptoms while another does not. The most important body system responsible for the severity of your allergy symptoms is your immune system.
